"Basil Portmanue!" Effie Trinket called out happily, looking around at all the
girls in district 12. My body went numb. How could it be my name? I was
only 15, my name had only been placed in the reaping three times out of
thousands of others, the eldest girl that lived next to us broke so many rules
she had to have had her name put in at least fifty times. Why me? Why me?
"Go on Basil" My eldest sister promted. She was 23 and was no longer in the
run for the reaping. I slowly walked forward, the others parting to make a
way for me. I finally reached the stage. Effie smiled at me, sickeningly sweet
and said. "Congragulations Basil!" Now for the boys. My mind went blank
after that. All I know is that it was a boy I didn't even know, at least I don't
think I did. But he looked familiar, I couldn't figure out why. After a few
minutes, my mind finally came back to me as Effie called out; "HAPPY
HUNGER GAMES! AND MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR
FAVOR!" As I was being led into a large building, panic finally began to hit
me. I wished one of my 7 sisters would have volunteered for me. They had
such a bigger chance to win than I did. They were all pretty well fed for our
district. I being the youngest was treated more like a dog. If it weren't for my
older sister, who gave me half of her portion of food every night I would have
starved. And trust me I have gotten very very close to that. Even now I still
felt light headed, and my kneese were shaking even though only a little was
from the actual thought of being in the hunger games. My mind hadn't fuly
set to the idea of it. I just hoped my death would be as quick and painless as
possible.
ooc- please someone post something... I ran out of ideas, oh and moon could you take the role of a guy a little older than Basil? as well as another girl, one probably a little older too. I wants to do the whole romance thing like in the actual movie. Thanks! Please post soon!

"Tinemet Runfern!" Effie called out as she read the name off the slip.
A girl with dark brown hair in a bun walked cooly down the small isle that was made for her. Alarmed whispers went through the whole crowd, yet no one volunteered.
"Now for the boys!" Effie trilled. She swirled her hand around in the glass bowl and picked a small slip from the top. She walked back over to the microphone and opened up the slip.
"Shayde Vicorra..." Effie murmured. Tinemet put a hand to her mouth. No. Not him... she thought.
A tall boy with muscular shoulders and black, shaggy hair began his walk down the isle. Why Shayde? Why not anybody else? she thought. Shayde was the bad boy in District 11. He was tall, dark, and every girl's dream. He also had a reputation of beating people to a pulp if he didn't like them.
As he climbed onto the stage, he winked at Tinemet, a smirk playing on his lips. Tinemet rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
"Alright. Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor!" Effie cried into the microphone and the ceremony was over.
Tinemet and Shayde were escorted into two seperate rooms to wait for their friends and family to say goodbye.
Tinemet sat in the couch that was there, waiting for her mother to come in. The door whipped open and in stepped her mother. "Mom..." she said. Her mom rushed over to her and wrapped her arms around her daughter.
"Don't cry mom. Please. You can't cry!" Tinemet said as she felt her mother's shoulders shake. Small tears welled up in her eyes and she put her eyes on her mom's shoulder. "Stop! Don't... Cry..." she murmured as she held her mom tighter. "I love you, mom."
The peacekeepers broke them apart and pulled Tinemet back to the couch.
Tinemet wiped her eyes and followed the peacekeepers as they led her to the train. Shayde was waiting with another three peacekeepers.
She glanced at him and sighed. I guess we're gonna have to talk at some point. she thought. The peacekeepers put them on the train and left them to wait for the District 11 mentors.
Shayde slumped back in his chair and laughed.
"There's nothing to laugh about." Tinemet said through clenched teeth, balling her hand into a fist.
He looked over at Tinemet and smiled. "Or is there?" he asked. Shayde slowly crept forward while Tinemet started slowly going backward. "Stop, Shayde." she said.
Shayde kept moving forward after her, a devious look in his eyes. Tinemet got out of her chair and so did Shayde. He kept moving forward toward her until he had her up against the wall. Shayde held a lock of Tinemet's hair in between his fingers. "Now what does this remind you of?" he asked her.
"Nothing." Tinemet muttered, turning her head to the side.
"Really? Cause it sure reminds me of our first kiss out behind the school." Shayde chuckled quietly. His voice had dropped down to a low seductive tone.
Tinemet looked back up at him and said, "Shayde, we were 15 then. It's been 3 years."
Shayde moved his face closer to hers and murmured, "Three years too long, beautiful." His lips were just inches from Tinemet's.
Don't kiss him. Tinemet, don't kiss him! she thought, restraining herself from doing what she most wanted to do. No Tinemet! Don't! she yelled silently to herself as her hands found the collar of his shirt.
A person standing in the door of the box car caught the two's attention. "Well, I hate to break up this lovefest, but it seems our train is leaving." said the man. He cleared his throat.
Tinemet pushed Shayde away from her and brushed off the skirt of her dress, her face a bright red. "Sorry. He had me up against the wall." she muttered.
Shayde smirked. He caught himself on the edge of the table and straightened himself back up.

My mother was sick in bed, so my eldest sister was the only one who
came to visit me. She wrapped her arms around me. "I'll miss you
Basil, okay, stay safe, make sure you find food and water. Remember
everything I taught you about what is edible and not, and hide. You
might get lucky. Okay? Just, try to stay safe." She said, as she
began to tear up. "I'll try, I promise" I said, not wanting to let
go. We stayed like that for a long time, until the Peacekeepers tore
us apart. A choked cry escaped my mouth as I was pushed onto the
train, and the door shut tightly behind me. Separating me from my
entire life. I sat down on one of the cushy seats, my heart racing
and my hands shaking. The other boy sat across the room from me. But
refused to talk to me, he seemed to be thinking, so I left him
alone.
After a long while my eyes drifted closed. Only my growling stomach
had kept me awake so far, there was food only known to those from
the Capital. But I couldn't even try to eat it, my body would reject
it. I wasn't even used to a decent meal, much less delicacies. They
could make me sick. But I was so hungry. I got up, and grabbed one
of the least.... expensive looking of all of the foods and popped it
in my mouth. Big mistake. It tasted so amazing in my mouth, it
exploded over my tongue in a wave of fruity flavor. I swallowed
eagerly, but as soon as I did my stomach flipped, however, I kept my
sickness down, and didn't touch another morsel. I sat back down,
wanting this ride to be over. My eyes began to fall again, and I
soon fell asleep.
ooc- I don't know who I want the person to help them to be. I don't
want it to be Katniss, Peeta, or Haymitch because I want this to
have happened before or a long time after Katniss and Peeta were in
the hunger games.. What do you think. Would you control my person to
help, and I'll do yours?

ooc: like the district mentor? and i'm gonna have my post on the opposite side as yours ;D Tinemet crossed her arms over her chest and looked at Shayde. "This was all your fault." she muttered to him. Shayde laughed again. He put his arm around Tinemet and smiled.
"Sorry about that. She's just so... Intriguing." Shayde said, touching Tinemet's nose lightly. Tinemet shook her head, brown bangs swishing side to side.
The man cleared his throat again and brushed off his gray vest he was wearing over a white collared shirt. "I'm Tavern. I will be your mentor for the time being before you go into the Hunger Games." he said.
A woman in a short skirt and tight fitting top walked into the box car, heels clicking on the floor. "And I am Maeva. I am also your mentor before you are put into the Hunger Games." she said, her slightly french capitol accent showing through.
Shayde's eyes looked like the were going to pop out of his head. Tinemet elbowed him in the ribs sharply. "Oof..." he breathed as he held his side.
Maeva laughed as she walked into the dining car.
Tavern cleared his throat again and said, "We will see you in a while. Please, take some time to get comfortable in your cars. Maeva and I will be waiting for you when you are ready." He headed into the dining car after Maeva.
Tinemet shoved Shayde over as his arm slipped lower onto her back. "Paws off, bub." she said and began her walk to her car.
Shayde laughed as he followed her. "I have hands, not paws, genius." he said. He found Tinemet's car first and stood in front of the door. "Let me get the door for you." he said and opened it. "I'll see you in the dining car in exactly ten minutes, alright?" He left before Tinemet could answer.
"How rude..." she said. But so utterly hot! she thought. Tinemet scowled at herself inwardly and entered her car.

ooc- I was hoping you could be my people's mentor... because just randomly posting it without any interaction is just boring. Do you want to skip to when they first arrive at the capitol or when they're all on the chariots to go into the capitol building? To skip all the boring stuff? Do you mind? If you do want to do this just tell me and I'll edit my post, but right now I'm just going to skip to when they're on the chariots. I stood stiffly in the tight black dress, it was too tight, only adding to the darkness closing in around me, trying to strangle me to death. I looked around at the people watching nervously, biting my lip so hard, I tasted my own blood as it flowed onto my tongue. The gold eye shadow I was wearing glittered in the lights of the huge "celebration" . Underneath my eyes was a layer of black eyeshadow, making it look like soot. I held tightly onto the shred of linen that had once been my mothers wedding dress. The "soot" from my hands rubbing off on the pure white fabric in unattractive black splotches. The boy next to me waved at the crowed, probably hoping to get a better shot at sponsors for himself. I however, was far too panicked to worry about anything of that sort. I was probably going to be the first to be killed. I gulped, clutching tighter onto the fabric on my hands.

Tinemet stood near the chairot as her stylist, Lucifer, applied the last bit of her makeup. Silver eyeliner was thickly applied around her eyes, as well as dark brown eyeshadow that was applied lightly over her lids. She fingered the golden tail of the dress she had. She tightened the brown belt she had on that held up the flowing tail and looked at her dress. She was wearing a strapless dress with a tail and long, brown tights that cut off on the inside. "Tinemet..." said Lucifer. Tinemet opened her eyes and smiled. "So, how do I look?" Tinemet asked, spinning around. Lucifer held up a crown of silver laurels in her finely manicured hands. "Final touch." she said. "But I'm not the one who's going to put it on you." Tinemet raised an eyebrow. "Who is gonna put it on me then?" she asked. "Me." Shayde said. Tinemet turned around to see him dressed in a skin tight shirt and baggy, black pants with an identical set of laurels on his head. Tinemet sighed and looked at him. "Go ahead. Crown me." she said. Shayde gently placed the laurels atop Tinemet's head and let his hands slide down her arms as he looked her over. "You look..." he said. Tinemet was shocked. This was the first time Shayde had ever been at a loss for words. She brushed his black bangs out of his blue eyes and smiled. "Thank you, Shayde." she said and gingerly kissed his cheek. Shayde smiled and grabbed her hand. "We need to get on the chariot." he said as he eyed the District 12 tributes. They seemed to be less intimidating as they had last year. Tinemet took a graceful step up into the chariot and the pulled Shayde up with her. He stumbled a bit and ended up standing only an inch from Tinemet. Tinemet smiled up at him. "You know, your eyes are really green and... Beautiful this close up." he murmured. Tinemet blushed. "Thanks, kid." she said and punched his arm playfully. The chariot was pulled forward through the tunnel. Tinemet positioned herself just next to Shayde and waited to be presented to the capitol. As the chariot was pulled out into the bright lights, Tinemet and Shayde both put on their best winners smiles. Tinemet kept her hold on Shayde's hand, feeling as if it were the only thing keeping her up right. ooc: we should have another rebellion start because of the two couples in the arena. like the district 12 & 11 mentors come together and plot! and click on the following words to see the design of Tinemet's dress for the interview and their district outfits. ooc- cool, idk who is gonna fall in love with who... Like what if my guy actually ends up falling in love with your girl, your guy gets jealous and starts to "fall in love" with mine? Because again, I don't want my characters to have one plot and your to have another, if they don't intertwine it makes it no fun. Also, do you think that Tinemet could look out for my girl like Katniss did with Rue? and here is the dress she was wearing www.solo-ofertas.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/A-Black-Dress-Will-Never-Fade-Out-of-Fashion.jpgThe chariots soon rolled into a large circle in front of the capital building. The lights were blinding and I coudn't see anything, but the next thing I knew, we were inside. The building was huge. I could not believe my eyes. But at that moment, dread, and cruel reality began to set in. I just want to go home. A small whimper escaped my mouth, and the boy from my district elbowed me harshly in the side. Yeah I know it was "bad for HIS image" I just wanted to go home! My lip trembled, but I kept back any more sound. My side hurt terribly now, and I wanted to rub it, but the boy glared at me threateningly so I stayed still as best I could. ooc- sorry I just woke up and don't have much muse.. what point of the story do you want to skip to?

ooc: when they are just about to be let into the arena. and the arena outfits are kind of like the training outfits from the movie. except it has a black hoodie with it. and i like that idea. like, after they get rescued by their mentors when there's like 5 tributes left, they all are formally introduced to each other and stuff. how does that sound? Tinemet slipped the black hoodie over her shoulders, hands shaking. I'm being sent to my death. she thought as she paced back and forth across the room. Lucifer quietly knocked on the door and stepped in. Tinemet rushed across the room and squeezed her tight. "I'm so scared." Tinemet murmured, not letting go of Lucifer. Lucifer rubbed Tinemet's back, saying, "It's okay to be scared, Tinemet. We all are." She pulled back from the hug, but kept her hands on Tinemet's shoulders. "Now listen. The first thing you have to do is grab one of those supply bags and run. You're fast, you can do it. The next thing you do is find a source of water." "Ten seconds until launch." said the announcer. Tinemet looked back at Lucifer. "What do I do then?" she asked. "Survive." Lucifer said gravely. "Shayde will be your ally." Tinemet nodded and turned around toward the tube that brought her up to the launch pad. "Thank you, Lucifer. You've been very kind to me." she said as she stepped into the tube. The glass door in front of her slid shut and she was pushed up into the arena. She held up an arm to shield herself from the bright light. When she could see again, she saw that the arena was mostly forest. Perfect. she thought and looked to her left. Shayde was there, looking handsome as ever. He looked at her and mouthed the word "run" before turning away. Tinemet knew what he meant. She placed her feet delicately on the launch pad to be ready for the gong to sound. ooc: and after you post your tributes getting on their launch pads, then the games will begin. Arena Outfit

I pulled the black hoodie over my own head, the other people going to help the boy. I believe his name was
Lucious, but I don't remember. I probably should have been nicer to them, they might have helped me more.
I heard the announcer say that there were only ten seconds until the launch, and stepped onto the pad.
I couldn't get to one of the supply bags, I'd seen far too many tributes killed at the first few minutes trying
to get to the supplies. I knew I wasn't fast enough. I would have to run straight for the forest.
The loud gong signaled the games to begin. I instantly whipped around,
heading straight for the trees, not looking back for more than a second to see
Lucious grabbing a sword and using it to cut the throat of another tribute,
stealing the back pack they had grabbed in the process. I then turned around,
sprinting into the trees as fast as my legs could carry me. I ran to a large tree
with a small but deep hole at the base. I dragged over a shrub that had been
uprooted, then pulled myself inside the hole, still shaking violently in fear.
ooc- do you think that your girl could find her after a little while, she's still starved from her life in District 12 and barely eating anything.

ooc: yeah. she'll find her while she's hunting some day. Tinemet Shayde Tinemet flew off the launch pad, long legs working to propel her forward. She dove under the attack of a girl with arrows, whipping off her hoodie. She used the hoodie to wrap around the girl's legs and pull them out from under her. Tinemet grabbed an arrow and stabbed it through the girls chest. She stood up, hands shaking. I-I just killed someone... she thought. "Tinemet, get down!!" Shayde yelled. He jumped for Tinemet, grabbed her around the waist, and dropped them both to the ground as a sharp spear flew over their heads. Shayde and Tinemet jumped up an instant after. Tinemet grabbed a backpack along with the bow and arrows that the girl she had killed had. She then grabbed Shayde's wrist and sprinted for the forest. "Hurry up. I know you can run faster!" she said to him. "Yeah. I don't want to outrun you!" he answered, clutching his sword in his hand. Tinemet smiled as they crashed through the bushes and wove through the trees. When they were a good distance away from the Cornucopia, they slowed down. Tinemet let out a breath and took the backpack off her back. She sat down on a rock and looked up at Shayde. "Time to find out what's in this pack." she said. Shayde stood in the clearing, on guard just in case anybody tried to jump out at them. Tinemet unzipped the pack and looked at the contents inside. Two water bottles, rope, dried fruit, iodine, a knife, matches, and a sleeping bag. "Looks like the Game Makers were prepared for people to team up." Shayde laughed. Tinemet zipped the backpack back up again and stood up, slinging the bag over her shoulder. "Lucifer said I needed to find a source of water." she said. Shayde touched the tip of his sword and looked at Tinemet. "That's what Rikku said too. Let's go." he said. He looked at the way the ground was sloped and smirked. Pointing his finger west, he said, "The water's that way. I can tell by the way the ground slopes in that direction."

ooc- idk what to post. I just hurt my knee and it really smarts... but I'll try to post something, sorry if it's short
I curled my legs up beneath me, trmbling and my stomach growling. I grabbed some of the bark from
the inside of the tree, beginning to knaw on the wood, eagerly grawing the bitter tasting sap
into my mouth. I was used to meals worse than this. A delicacy for me was finding an old loaf of
bread in a trashcan outside of one of the other houses in district 12.
---------------------------
Lucious-
He grabbed the sword, out of the ground, swinging it around, completely decapitating a girl
fleeing behind him. Before the girl hit the ground, he grabbed the bag that was hanging from her
shoulder before it even struck the Earth. He then bolted into the woods. Out of the corner of his
eye he saw the girl from his district. Basil. He believed that that was her name. He would worry
about her later, she was so weak and poor, she might not even be able to keep herself safe from
starvation much less have the opportunity to fight anyone. He might not have to worry about her at
all.
ooc- do you think that it could be soon though? So that I can roleplay Basil more than a few meager sentances?

"Water!" Tinemet said as she spotted the little pond. She fell down at the edge of the pond and pulled out the water bottles. She filled them both up to the rims and put a drop of iodine in each of them.
She stood up with both the bottles in the pack. "Now let's find some shelter and then get hunting." she said. She was about to swing the pack onto her shoulders, but Shayde caught the pack.
"It's my turn to carry it." he said, pulling it gently away from her.
Tinemet smiled at him and put her quiver on her back, holding the arrow in her hand. Shayde smiled and walked by her side, the backpack on only one of his shoulders.
As they walked, Shayde walked near a tree. His foot fell into a hole near the tree. "Wha!" he cried as he fell onto the ground, his leg in the hole under the bush.
"Are you okay?" Tinemet asked, dropping down to grab his arm. She pulled him up and brushed off his shirt.
Shayde laughed. "I'm fine." he answered. "But while my foot was in there, it hit something that felt like a person." He picked the backpack off the ground.
Tinemet stared at the bush and picked out tiny little details about it. There were no roots connecting the bush to the ground, there was a human sized hole in there, and she could just barely see the toe of a shoe.
"Whip the bush back on three." Tinemet murmured to Shayde. Shayde nodded and shouldered the pack onto his other shoulder.
Tinemet drew out an arrow. "One." she murmured.
"Two." She knocked the arrow. And drew it up.
Tinemet drew back on the string. "Three!"
Shayde whipped the bush back to reveal a small girl in the hole.

I shrieked as soon as I saw the two of them, covering my face and
cowering against the back of the trunk of the tree. I whimpered,
just wanting this to be over. "P-please." was all I was able to
choke out. After a few seconds of not being killed I peeked up over
my arm at the two of them. A girl and a boy, they looked like they
were a lot older than I was. They're just toying with me. They're
just going to kill me. Oh God, please just make it quick and
painless. My eyes began to water. I'd never be able to see my mother
or eldest sister again. Only a chocked sob was able to escape my
mouth.

Tinemet saw that it was only a young girl. She put the arrow back in her quiver and looked at Shayde. "We can't kill her. You know we can't." she said.
Shayde nodded and let his sword drop down to his side.
Tinemet crouched down near the girl and said, "Please, listen to me. We're not gonna kill you." She felt horrible that she had scared the girl that bad that the girl was almost crying.
She looked up at Shayde and mouthed "she is coming with us." Shayde groaned and looked down at her. "Fine. But if she is holding us back, she is out." he said.
Tinemet smiled and looked at the girl. "C'mon. Get up. We're gonna take you with us." she said.

I looked up at them in utter shock. Why would they save me? I tried to stand but my knees gave out. I pulled myself up again, clutching onto the brak of the tree for support, and pulled myself out of the hole. "W-why didn't you just k-kill me?" I stammered.
Ooc I have to go to bed... I'm really sorry but I will try to post later when my parents are asleep I have to sleep in their room because my aunt is sleeping in mine. Probably midnight or a little later, they don't want me on.. Sorry I would write more but I can't goodnight :/
